Authorship

-For contributions, authors will not be charged in any form.

-Make sure that every author listed on a paper should have made a significant contribution to the work (e.g. research design, data acquisition or interpretation, etc). Avoid adding someone who has not been involved in the work to the list of authors or leaving out someone who has been involved in the work from the list of authors.

-Inform journals of retraction or correction in case of data issues or redundant publication.

-Reference all material in the text clearly and thoroughly.

-Declare any relevant interests (e.g. any funding and the role of the funder) to the journal.

-Submit a paper to just one journal at a time, and withdraw your paper if you decide to send it to another journal.

Peer review

-All papers to be published should go through the process of peer reviews to ensure the integrity of the scholarly records.

-The peer-review type we adopt is double-blind peer review, under which the reviewers don’t know the authors of the papers and the authors don’t know the reviews either.

-Peer reviewers should only agree to review manuscripts for which they have the subject expertise necessary for conducting a proper assessment and which they can assess in a timely manner. Peer reviewers should provide journals with their personal and professional information which is accurate and a true representation of their expertise as a reference for journals when looking for suitable reviewers.

-Peer reviewers should be objective and constructive in their reviews and avoid provocative or derogatory comments.

-Peer reviewers should declare all potential conflicting interests or seek advice form the journal if they are not sure whether something is involved in a relevant interest.

-Peer reviewers should respect the confidentiality of peer review and not reveal any details of a manuscript or its review before the publishing, and not use information acquired during the process for their own or any other person/organization’s advantage.

Journal editors

-Journal editors should be able to recognize papers with possible misconducts and prevent them from being published.

-In any case, journal editors should not encourage misconducts or allow them to happen deliberately.

-Journal editors have duty to act properly if they suspect misconduct or if an allegation of misconduct is brought to them.

-Journal editors should provide guidance about retraction or correction of papers.

-Journal editors should always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications, retractions and apologies when needed.
